During the 4-years life of the network, the scientists designed, developed, implemented and
applied new non-invasive imaging techniques for the diagnostic of lung diseases,
such as chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases, asthma, cystic fibrosis and
lung cancer. To reach these objectives, the research activities of the Phelinet network
covered a wide range of scientific domains: from nuclear polarization using
optical pumping process to drug testing in animal models of lung diseases, together
with the investigation of patients suffering from pulmonary pathologies.

The scientific outcomes of the Phelinet Network
have been largely published in peer reviewed journals (43 published articles, 17 submitted manuscripts and 22 manuscripts in
preparation)...</description>
