PHeLINet is over!

During the 4-years life of the network, the scientists designed, developed, implemented and applied new non-invasive imaging techniques for the diagnostic of lung diseases, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases, asthma, cystic fibrosis and lung cancer. To reach these objectives, the research activities of the Phelinet network covered a wide range of scientific domains: from nuclear polarization using optical pumping process to drug testing in animal models of lung diseases, together with the investigation of patients suffering from pulmonary pathologies.

The scientific outcomes of the Phelinet Network have been largely published in peer reviewed journals (43 published articles, 17 submitted manuscripts and 22 manuscripts in preparation) and in books (7 chapters). These scientific results have been widely presented in international conferences (86 articles in conference proceedings).

The recruited researchers have significantly contributed to the research activities as can be noticed from the number of publications in which they are involved (25 published articles, 17 submitted manuscripts and 22 in preparation, 60 conference proceedings and 3 book chapters). The interdisciplinary and collaborative works within the network are emphasized with the number of joint publications (10 published articles and 7 in preparation or submitted).

Finally, the network activities have contributed to the creation of one spin-off company and to one pending patent.
